Portland oncologist Robert Lufkin first encountered Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) when his now teenage daughter was diagnosed with adrenal cancer as an infant. His wife, Shelly, was also diagnosed with LFS and is now living with terminal breast cancer, creating a greater urgency for research and treatment options. Over the last 10 years, Dr. Lufkin has contributed to international education, support and research as the co-founder of the Li-Fraumeni Syndrome Association (LFSA).
