Dr. Ian Schnadig is a board-certified doctor in hematology and medical oncology who has been caring for people with cancer and blood disorders for over 15 years.

Dr. Schnadig believes that every patient deserves to be heard, respected, and fully informed about their diagnosis and treatment options. He takes time to listen to each person’s concerns and works closely with patients and their families to make decisions together, always explaining things in clear, easy-to-understand language.

In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Schnadig is heavily involved in cancer research, especially in the area of genitourinary cancers (such as prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer). He has helped design and lead clinical trials that bring new treatments to patients, and he has published research in leading medical journals. This means his patients often have access to the latest advances in cancer care.

Dr. Schnadig also serves as Chief Medical Officer at Compass Oncology, where he helps guide the overall care patients receive. He works with a team of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other specialists to make sure every patient gets the best possible support throughout their treatment.

Dr. Schnadig completed his medical training at Rush University in Chicago and his specialty training in hematology and oncology at Oregon Health Sciences University. He is board certified in hematology, and medical oncology, and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.

Patients often say that Dr. Schnadig’s caring approach and clear communication help them feel more comfortable and confident during a difficult time. He is committed to answering questions, providing honest information, and supporting patients and their loved ones every step of the way.

Outside of work, he is a husband and father of two teenage children with whom he spends as much time as he can (or they will let him!). His hobbies include regular exercise, listening to, and seeing live music, reading, hiking, collecting shiny things, and puttering around the house uselessly. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, as much as she will tolerate.
