Biography
Dr. Emerson is a surgeon and oncologist who specializes in the care of women with cancer. Her approach to medicine is guided by personal experiences with friends, family members and beloved patients who have lived through serious illness with grace and humor. It is always appreciated - especially for the first visit - when patients are able to bring family, a friend or a member of their support team to listen in on the conversation, take notes and help to remember questions.
Having traveled extensively in Latin America she has a strong appreciation of Latin American cultures and is certified as a bilingual Spanish-speaking provider. In her personal time she enjoys working with women’s health care projects in low-resource countries, including programs in Guatemala and the central African country of Rwanda.
Dr. Emerson loves being outdoors with her husband, daughter and dog; they can often be found in South Tillamook County (muddy and sandy!) visiting family. Dr. Emerson and her husband love listening to and playing live music together.
