Biography
Dr. Shao is a medical oncologist with subspecialty expertise in gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and head and neck cancers. He credits two exceptional women as his inspiration for becoming a doctor, his aunt, a pediatrician and his grandmother who attended medical school in China during the 1930’s—a time when most Chinese women didn’t even go to school. Dr. Shao brings hope and a positive outlook to his patients. It is important to him to make a difference in their lives. Whether it is curing a cancer with personalized treatment or helping improve their quality of life, his patients know they are not alone. A team is there to help.
Outside of work, Dr. Shao plays violin with the Beaverton Symphony and is formally trained in Cantonese cooking. He enjoys traveling and learning all he can about world history and different cultures.
