Biography

Val Lanham is an oncology social worker at the Vancouver and Rose Quarter Cancer Centers. She comes to Compass with over 20 years’ experience as a social worker. She was trained in a trauma recovery model and continues to use a trauma informed approach. Val is invested in supporting patient’s and their families on their journey with treatment. This can be such a challenging time in patient’s lives but it can also open doors to new ways in living, thinking and feeling. Val prides herself on beginning where the patient is and is focused on a holistic approach. You will find that Val holds a loving presence with you. 

Val enjoys spending time with her partners, child and community. She is a playful person, enjoys smiling, laughing and enjoying nature.
