Medical Oncology

Medical oncologists are physicians who have expertise in diagnosing and treating cancer patients using chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, biological therapy and targeted therapies. These physicians work closely with various specialties, including oncology-trained nursing staff, surgeons, radiation oncologists, primary care physicians, and other supporting services.

They manage treatment plans and therapies, monitor and evaluate progress, and collaborate on the best treatment options with other members of a patient's care team. They consult with patients on their choices and offer medical guidance to help make decisions during the course of treatment.
